Valerie Vigil
Congratulations to Valerie Vigil Assistant Director of Financial Aid, for being selected for the Board of Directors of the National Association of Veterans Program Administrators (NAVPA). NAVPA is a nationally recognized organization of program administrators who work to insure that student veterans are provided the best service and most accurate access to the GI Bill benefits.
Vince Gorge and Kyra Perry
Kudos to Vince Gorge and Kyra Perry for their assistance with the BIO109 field trip to Gray Hawk Nature Center and the San Pedro River. This life-changing experience for MCC students could not have happened without the dedicated efforts from Vince and Krya, who not only drove vans, but assisted in all aspects of student activities.They went above and beyond the definition of true departmental team work.
Dan Dunn
Football coach Dan Dunn was named Coach of the Year by the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC). It’s been a successful season for the Thunderbirds and MCC’s first trip to the Valley of the Sun Bowl in 11 years.
The MCC Electronics Program
The MCC Electronics Program received a generous donation from Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., of over $11,000 of electronics equipment, comprised of over 200 "development tools" used to investigate new technologies and develop new products. In addition, MCC Electronics students were invited to participate in the Freescale Technology Forum "Design Challenge 2008" with a grand prize of $10,000 and finals to be held in Florida.
