Participate in the Freescale FTF Design Challenge!
Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. has generously donationed over $11,000 of electronics
equipment to the MCC Electronics Program. This equipment is comprised of over
200 "Development Tools" -- state-of-the-art circuit boards and devices
used by Technicians and Engineers use to investigate new technologies and develop
new products.
This equipment will be used in our two microprocessor courses (ELE241 and ELE243), our communications courses (ELE261 and ELE263), and our upper level analog electronics courses, where you can use them in your final projects. MCC Electronics will be providing this equipment to you free of charge if you commit to using it in your final project in any of these courses.
These development tools contain intelligent sensors that contain microcontrollers and advanced devices such as Electric Field sensors, pressure sensors and three-axis accelerometers that use state-of-the-art MEMS technology. Other schools are just beginning to investigate MEMS, but due to our partnership with Freescale, you can use this advanced technology now!
In addition, MCC Electronics students were also invited to participate in
the Freescale Technology Forum "Design Challenge 2008", with a grand
prize of $10,000 and finals to be held in Florida.
The FTF Design Challenge's Web site is at:

This represents a fantastic opportunity for you as an MCC Electronics student; you get advanced equipment to use in your coursework and projects, and then you can demonstrate your skills in the design competition.
Some photographs of the development tools are shown here. See your Electronics instructors for more details and specifications.
Our sincerest thanks go to Freescale.
