ELECTRONICS ASSEMBLER |
OJT - On the job training, soldering training |
Electronics Assemblers follow detailed and specific instructions to assemble electronic products. Often following a blueprint, they do wiring, soldering, and "board stuffing" -- placing components onto circuit boards. The work is often repetitive. Assemblers do not need an Electronics degree. Many assemblers work for temporary employment agencies. Sometimes, these employment agencies will provide training to applicants with no experience so that they can get jobs as assemblers. Often, companies will provide OJT (on the job training) for these positions, or will send their assemblers to training schools to learn how to solder to military or commercial specifications. Because assembers can gain all the experience they need through OJT or corporate training, there is no need for an Electronics AAS degree.
